What can we expect from Farnborough Friday?

We know the Airshow has the power to excite and engage like nothing else which is why on the Friday of trade week, we welcome the Public to the show with a focus on young people and those looking for a career in Aviation.  As part of the trade day programme our plan is to bring STEM subjects to life in interesting and meaningful ways through the industries, technologies and companies from around the world.

Aimed at 11-21 year olds there will be plenty of activity including a Careers Hub, STEM Trail, exhibition stand activities and final of the Rocketry Challenge.  We are also working in partnership with a number of organisations including: Winchester Science Centre, the Royal Aeronautical Society, IET, Aviation Skills Foundation, and the STEM Flyer 7 Continents Challenge.

How will the day be structured?

As a trade day, the exhibition halls will be open providing those attending Farnborough Friday with access to people, companies and innovation.

Activities include:

  • Careers Hub and live Job Board
  • Comprehensive speaker programme
  • Hands-on activities with exhibitors using innovation to demonstrate the application of STEM subjects
  • Rocketry Challenge final
  • Involvement from companies throughout the global supply chain, from primes to SMEs, and delivered in conjunction with aerospace trade association ADS Group.

Is there a minimum age?

Farnborough Friday is aimed at children aged over 11, this is to ensure the trade aspect of the show isn’t compromised and to reflect the technical nature of the content.

My children are under 11 years old, can they still attend?

The show is open to all but the content is aimed at 11 – 21 year olds.
